NexusIQ: AI-Assisted Event Concierge & Networking Engagement Platform

EMSDC and the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia seek student collaboration to
explore the development of an interactive event concierge and networking engagement
platform designed to improve attendee experiences, strengthen business matchmaking,
increase engagement during events, and capture more meaningful relationship and
participation data across conferences, sourcing events, trade programs, and networking
activities.
The concept combines physical event kiosk technology, mobile engagement tools, and
lightweight AI-assisted recommendation systems to help attendees navigate events more
intentionally and connect with relevant people, sessions, programs, and opportunities in
real time.
Many networking and business events generate valuable introductions and engagement
opportunities, but attendees often struggle to identify the most relevant people to meet,
sessions to attend, or organizations to engage with. At the same time, event organizers
frequently have limited visibility into attendee interaction patterns, engagement quality, or
networking outcomes beyond basic registration and attendance data.
This project would explore practical approaches to designing a hybrid event engagement
system that may include touchscreen kiosks, QR-based mobile participation, lightweight
recommendation logic, engagement tracking workflows, and gamified networking
concepts.
