Project Overview

One Liner: Creating a remote-controlled shopping helper that will allow customers to look at the stock at the ShopMetal store in Delaware.

Abstract

This project aims to create a remote-controlled shopping helper for use in the ShopMetal store in Delaware. Clients will be able to control the robot using a web interface, which will allow them to move around the metal shop and look at the stock. The web app will communicate with a control board on the robot, which will facilitate robot movements and camera control. The robot is around 4 feet tall, and has two wheels for moving around, two arms with 7 joints for grabbing items, a camera for viewing surroundings, and a monitor for viewing information or the customer controlling the robot.
