Susquehanna Civil - AI & Digital Enablement for Business Development and Marketing
Project Overview
One Liner: Susquehanna Civil - AI & Digital Enablement for Business Development and Marketing
Susquehanna Civil is a Pennsylvania-based civil engineering firm that supports transportation agencies across the Commonwealth. Susquehanna Civil is growing and seeking to advance its digital readiness and use of artificial intelligence to support business development and marketing operations. The firm currently relies on a mix of professional expertise, manual workflows, and enterprise tools (including Microsoft 365 with Copilot and a CRM platform) to support proposal development, client research, pursuit strategy, and knowledge management. As AI capabilities expand, Susquehanna Civil is interested in better understanding where and how these tools can be responsibly and practically integrated to improve efficiency, insight, and consistency across its business development and marketing functions.
This project will follow a three-phase approach: (1) explore existing workflows, tools, and AI use cases within the firm; (2) assess digital readiness, process pain points, and data sensitivity considerations; and (3) design and build one or more high-value, production-oriented prototypes. Potential areas of focus may include custom AI agents, internal or external knowledge capture, proposal and pursuit support tools, workflow automation, and decision-support systems using structured and unstructured business data. In addition to functional prototypes, expected outcomes include documented automation time savings, implementation considerations, and a strategic roadmap to guide future AI adoption. The project is exploratory and applied, giving students the flexibility to determine where AI, traditional development, or hybrid solutions deliver the greatest business value.
