Abstract

EMSDC seeks student collaboration to explore the development of a centralized
relationship intelligence and engagement management system designed to help staff more
effectively organize, maintain, and activate professional relationships developed through
networking, events, partnerships, referrals, and community engagement activities.
As relationship-driven organizations, EMSDC and its affiliated entities regularly generate
large volumes of contacts, introductions, partnership opportunities, and stakeholder
interactions through conferences, sourcing events, meetings, trade activities, and ongoing
outreach efforts. Over time, organizations can face challenges related to fragmented
contact information, inconsistent follow-up, limited visibility into prior interactions, and
the loss of institutional knowledge when information is stored across individual inboxes,
spreadsheets, notes, or disconnected systems.
This project would explore practical approaches to improving relationship tracking,
engagement visibility, and contact organization through lightweight technology workflows,
structured data practices, and user-centered system design.
