Project Overview

One Liner: From imagination to illumination - SkyIDE helps kids code games that shine across the skyline.

Abstract

Skyscraper Games by Kids is an innovative outreach initiative that combines technology, creativity, and community engagement to inspire the next generation of young coders. Building on the Guinness World Record–winning legacy of transforming Philadelphia’s Cira Centre into the world’s largest playable versions of Pong and Tetris, this project will empower youth to design and showcase their own games on a skyscraper.

At the heart of the initiative is the development of a user-friendly, web-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) featuring a block-based programming interface. This platform will make game design accessible to children of all skill levels, allowing them to create interactive experiences that will be displayed on a massive, citywide stage.
