Scheduling platform for the Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C.
Staffing for Nurses aims to automate the process of nurses scheduling shifts at CNH. Currently, shift requests are managed manually using a giant and cumbersome Excel spreadsheet. Staffing for Nurses aims to cut down the time spent on the shift management process by introducing a mobile app for nurses to make shift requests, and a web site for hospital administrators to better visualize and manage the entire scheduling process.
Staffing for Nurses is a system consisting of three projects: Mobile app - used by nurses to request work on open shifts. Nurses will download the app to their personal devices. They will then be able to view available shifts, request available shifts, and post messages in a company-wide forum. Admin Portal - web app used by hospital administrators to view shift requests, set minimum capacity for shifts, and accept/reject shift requests Server - Backend server that interacts with the database to store/retrieve necessary data for the web and mobile applications involved in the SFN system.
